‘Get Ahead with ACCA’: Innovative Program for the Professional Development of students through a collaboration between UCLan Cyprus, ACCA, Grant Thornton Cyprus, and KPMG Cyprus

UCLan Cyprus, the prestigious Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Audit Firms Grant Thornton Cyprus and KPMG Cyprus announce the signing of a two tripartite Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting collaboration for the benefit of the student community and the Accounting and Finance sector through the ‘Get Ahead with ACCA’ Program. Specifically, the MoUs offer work experience opportunities (and further benefits) to students of the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance programme at UCLan Cyprus through the Audit Firms KPMG Cyprus and Grant Thornton Cyprus.

Specifically, as part of the tripartite agreement, students will be able to benefit from the following provisions:

• Access to a monthly placement at one of the Audit Firms during the summer months between their 2nd and 3rd years of study.
• Depending on their performance during the monthly placement, access to a 12-month employment at one of the Audit Firms. The annual employment will be offered in the form of a Work Placement module, which shall be part of their degree programme between their 3rd and 4th years of study.
• Depending on their performance during the summer and annual employment, they may be offered a full-time trainee contract by either of the Audit Firms upon completion of their studies, according to the terms and conditions of each firm.
• The time spent in their work (both during the monthly and annual placements) will count toward the minimum time required to complete the practical experience required for the ACCA Practical Experience (PER). It is understood that all students of the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree at UCLan Cyprus who participate in the ‘Get Ahead with ACCA’ scheme will have previously enrolled as ACCA Accelerate students at the University’s expense.
• Coverage by the respective Audit Firm of tuition fees and examination fees for the students who will be participating in their annual placement to take one or possibly two exams from ACCA’s Strategic Professional level. Tuition shall be taking place at the Institute of Professional Studies at UCLan Cyprus.

UCLan Cyprus will collaborate with its Partner Audit Firms for the successful implementation of the above MoUs for the benefit of all parties and, certainly, its students.

‘Get Ahead with ACCA’: Καινοτόμο πρόγραμμα για την επαγγελματική ανάπτυξη φοιτητών μέσω συνεργασίας Πανεπιστημίου UCLan Cyprus, ACCA, Grant Thornton Cyprus και KPMG Cyprus

Το Πανεπιστήμιο UCLan Cyprus, ο έγκριτος Σύνδεσμος Ορκωτών Λογιστών Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) και οι Ελεγκτικοί Οίκοι Grant Thornton Cyprus και KPMG Cyprus, ανακοινώνουν τη σύναψη τριμερούς Μνημονίου Συναντίληψης με σκοπό την προαγωγή της μεταξύ τους συνεργασίας επ’ ωφελεία της φοιτητικής κοινότητας και του κλάδου Λογιστικής και Χρηματοοικονομικής μέσω του Προγράμματος ‘Get Ahead with ACCA’. Συγκεκριμένα, το Μνημόνιο προβλέπει την παροχή εργασιακής εμπειρίας στους φοιτητές του πτυχίου BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance του Πανεπιστημίου UCLan Cyprus από τους Ελεγκτικούς Oίκους KPMG Cyprus και Grant Thornton Cyprus.

Επίσης, οι φοιτητές θα μπορούν να ωφελούνται από τις ακόλουθες πρόνοιες:

• Πρόσβαση σε μηνιαία τοποθέτηση σε έναν από τους Ελεγκτικούς Οίκους κατά τους θερινούς μήνες μεταξύ του 2^ου και 3^ου έτους σπουδών τους.
• Ανάλογα με την επίδοσή τους στη μηνιαία τοποθέτηση, πρόσβαση σε 12-μηνη εργοδότηση σε ένα από τους Ελεγκτικούς Οίκους. Η ετήσια εργοδότηση θα προσφέρεται ως εμβόλιμη μεταξύ του 3^ου και 4^ου έτους σπουδών τους.
• Ανάλογα με την επίδοσή τους κατά τη θερινή ή την ετήσια εργοδότηση, δύναται να τους προσφέρεται από ένα από τους Ελεγκτικούς Οίκους συμβόλαιο πλήρους απασχόλησης για μαθητευόμενους (full-time trainee contract) μετά την ολοκλήρωση των σπουδών τους, σύμφωνα με τους όρους και τις προϋποθέσεις έκαστου Οίκου.
• Προσμέτρηση του χρόνου εργασίας τους (τόσο στο πλαίσιο της μηνιαίας, όσο και της ετήσιας) για την κάλυψη του ελάχιστου χρόνου που απαιτείται για τη συμπλήρωση της πρακτικής άσκησης που προβλέπεται από το ACCA Practical Experience (PER). Νοείται πως όλοι οι φοιτητές του πτυχίου Λογιστικής και Χρηματοοικονομικής του Πανεπιστημίου UCLan Cyprus που θα συμμετάσχουν στο σχέδιο ‘Get Ahead with ACCA’ θα έχουν προηγουμένως εγγραφεί με έξοδα του Πανεπιστημίου ως σπουδαστές του ACCA Accelerate.
• Κάλυψη, από τον εκάστοτε Ελεγκτικό Οίκο, των διδάκτρων και εξέταστρων για να παρακαθήσουν μία ή πιθανόν και δύο εξετάσεις απο το επίπεδο Strategic Professional του ACCA, στο Ινστιτούτο Επαγγελματικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου UCLan Cyprus κατά τη διάρκεια της ετήσιας εργοδότησής τους μεταξύ του 3^ου και 4^ου έτους σπουδών
