UCLan Cyprus is proudly hosting the 12th National Session of European Youth Parliament Cyprus. From Wednesday, 29th of August until Saturday, 1st of September, EYP will be at the UCLan Cyprus premises. The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a non-partisan and independent educational project which is tailored specifically to the needs of the young European citizens. The EYP encourages independent thinking and socio-political initiative in young people and facilitates the learning of crucial social and professional skills. Today the EYP is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe.
It is centred around the main theme EU 2.0: Post Europe and the aftermath of the crisis. Over the past few years, the world has been faced with a number of crises on areas ranging from financial to refugee, energy and nationalism. Member States are trying to mitigate the consequences that have resulted from these events and set the foundations for a sustainable and prosperous future.
The EU is at a critical crossroad between the past and the future, trying to shape the EU of tomorrow.
The discussions will address issues such as that of sustainable social integration, capital markets union and the permanent structured cooperation.
The participants will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves in discussions that will enable them to come up with answers to the most critical question of what the EU should be and represent. Click here for more information.
12ο Εθνικό Συνέδριο Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου Νέων Κύπρου στο Πανεπιστήμιο UCLan Cyprus
Από την Τετάρτη, 29 Αυγούστου μέχρι το Σάββατο 1 Σεπτεμβρίου, το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο Νέων (EKN) Κύπρου, διοργανώνει το 12ο Εθνικό Συνέδριο του ΕΚΝ Κύπρου στο Πανεπιστήμιο UCLan Cyprus στη Λάρνακα.
Το 12ο Εθνικό Συνέδριο πρόκειται για πρωτοβουλία νέων, και ετήσια εκδήλωση η οποία διοργανώνεται από το ΕΚΝ Κύπρου για 12η συνεχή χρονιά. Θα φιλοξενήσει περίπου 200 συμμετέχοντες ηλικίας 16 – 18 ετών από διάφορα σχολεία της Κύπρου, και της Ευρώπης. Η θεματολογία θα επικεντρωθεί στις συνέπειες των διαφόρων πρόσφατων κρίσεων οι οποίες πλήττουν τη διεθνή κοινότητα, και κατά συνέπεια την Ευρώπη, τα τελευταία χρόνια. Οι σύνεδροι θα συζητήσουν τις επιπτώσεις κρίσεων όπως η οικονομική, προσφυγική και περιβαλλοντική, και καλούνται να αναπτύξουν δικά τους νομοσχέδια που ανταποκρίνονται στις δύσκολες αυτές συνθήκες.
Όπως κάθε συνέδριο του ΕΚΝ, το 12ο Εθνικό Συνέδριο θα δώσει την ευκαιρία στους σύνεδρούς του να συμμετάσχουν σε διαλογικές συζητήσεις μεταξύ τους, καθώς και με εμπειρογνώμονες στους τομείς της Ευρωπαϊκής πολιτικής, και πρωτοπόρους ερευνητές. Στόχος του ΕΚΝ είναι η δημιουργία ενός εποικοδομητικού και πολιτικά ουδέτερου περιβάλλοντος, όπου οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αναπτύξουν τις δικές τους μοναδικές απόψεις, σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες τις οποίες θα συλλέξουν και θα αναλύσουν οι ίδιοι. Μέσω διερεύνησης συνεργασίας και εντατικών διαβουλεύσεων, το 12ο Εθνικό Συνέδριο θέτει ως στόχο την ανάπτυξη της πολιτικής συνείδησης των νέων καθώς και την ενθάρρυνση συμμετοχής τους στα κοινά.
