1st Cyprus Penetration Testing Competition

Hack, Learn, Win!

The 1st Cyprus Penetration Testing Competition invites both beginners and experts in the area of cybersecurity to participate in an exciting ‘white hat hacking’ competition. The competition is made up of challenges of increasing difficulty, where, prior to the main competition event, there will be an introductory technical session where participants can learn key security concepts and methods.

The event is organized by UCLan Cyprus, the University of Cyprus and Circles. The event is under the umbrella of InfoSec and sponsored by the Cyprus Computer Society, the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism (the Digital Champion office), IEEE Communications Cyprus, ACM Women Cyprus and Computrain.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 and will be hosted at UCLan Cyprus campus in Pyla. The event will include complimentary coffee and lunch, thanks to a generous sponsorship by the MSc Cybersecurity course of UCLan Cyprus.

The program starts at 9:00 a.m. with registration and ends at 4:00 p.m. with the prizes ceremony. You can find a more detailed agenda on the event’s website. The highlights of the event are:

  • An inspiring talk on Cybersecurity from Stelios Stylianou, Associate Management Consultant at KPMG.
  • A technical session with cybersecurity professionals (names are announced on the website).
  • A 2-hour competition, where the contestants must overcome consecutive challenges of increasing difficulty.
  • The first contestants to complete the set of challenges will receive the winning prizes, including monetary prizes, scholarships for the MSc Cybersecurity course at UCLan Cyprus, a complementary registration to the CyberCrime Security Forum 2015 and other awards.
