UCLan Cyprus proudly announce the winning of the 3^rd prize on the Pancyprian Health and Safety Good Practice Awards 2016. The title of UCLan Cyprus proposal was ‘Ergonomics in kitchen cleaning procedures’ and is related to musculoskeletal disorders and working at height.

The introduction of a new special equipment for the cleaning of the funnels and the stainless steel kitchen walls gave the solution to the problem. The use of the equipment allows staff to perform the cleaning operations without the use of a step ladder (no working at height hazard) and at the same time maintain a healthy working posture as they do not have to raise their hands above their shoulder and head level minimising the load to their musculoskeletal system.
