Mr Kyriacos G. Coucounis

Associate Lecturer in Cyprus Law

Kyriacos G. Coucounis is a barrister-at-law and a practising lawyer specializing in civil and criminal litigation in First Instance and Appellate Courts of Cyprus. He provides professional advice and representation in various legal areas including Criminal Law, Contract Law, Property Law, Commercial Banking Law, Debt Recovery, Accidents and Torts, Traffic Law, Product Liability Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, Family Law, Administrative Law and European Union Law.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B Hons) at King’s College London in 2007. He was called to the British Bar in 2008 as a Member of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, after successfully completing the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at the College of Law (London). In 2009 he obtained his Master of Laws degree (LL.M) in International Commercial Law at King’s College London focusing on Commercial Banking Law, Comparative Company Law and International Trade.

Upon his return to Cyprus, Mr Coucounis was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 2010 and he is a partner at the law firm of George Coucounis LLC, in Larnaca, Cyprus. He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn.

In addition to his practical expertise, Mr Coucounis is interested in privacy issues, alternative dispute resolution, contract drafting and the reform of Cyprus Civil and Criminal Procedure Rules.
