Research Interests
His particular areas of research interests are risk assessment; the neurobiological bases of offending; reducing online exploitation of children; and increasing psychotherapeutic effectiveness of the treatment given to offenders. His recent research has examined internet offending; new approaches to treatment of offenders; and the neurobiological basis of offending.

UCLan Cyprus: Involved in the Risk Assessments module and Violent and Sexual Offenders Interventions module
University of Birmingham: Head of the forensic courses in the School of Psychology. He has an input into undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and headed up the suite of post-graduate courses leading to forensic chartership. He also created the first clinical/forensic doctorate in the UK.
