On 7 October 2022, UCLan Cyprus School of Law hosted with the Larnaca Bar Association and the Famagusta Bar Association, the book presentation of ‘The Law of Bankruptcy’ [‘Το Δίκαιο της Πτώχευσης’], authored by Dr Andreas Poetis. The book follows other books written by Dr Poetis, which also focus on complementary corporate issues. Dr Poetis studied law at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, which also awarded him his PhD in 1975. He established his first law practice upon returning to Cyprus from Athens in 1968. Dr Poetis also was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Central Lancashire by letter dated 25 June 2022 signed by Prof. Graham Baldwin, Vice Chancellor of UCLan, in recognition of his outstanding lifelong contribution to the legal profession and to legal scholarship.
