The mission of the UCLan IPS Energy School is to prepare young Cypriots through professional training, enabling them to secure employment in the field of hydrocarbons thus creating strong potential for further advancement in the energy development sector.
AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME
To produce well trained and qualified personnel able to enter technical roles within the petrochemical/oil and gas industries.
To assist students to acquire the necessary technical skills for installation (welding and pipeline), drilling and engineering skills with specialisations in the electrical and mechanical field.
1ST YEAR
During the first year of studies students will be introduced with the basic principles of engineering and the engineering fundamentals of the Oil & Gas Industry and progressively familiarise with:
· Petroleum Geology
· Welding Technology
· Materials & Corrosion Mechanisms
· Drilling Technology
· Oil & Gas Upstream, Midstream & Downstream Sectors
· Occupational Health & Safety in the Oil & Gas Fields
2ND YEAR
During the second year of studies of the Professional Diploma in Oil & Gas, the students receive:
