Dr. Noora Arajärvi, a lecturer at the School of Law, is leaving UCLan Cyprus at the end of August to take up a position as an Associate Expert in Rule of Law at the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in New York. In the past academic year Noora taught a variety of undergraduate modules as well as a postgraduate module on human rights.
In her role at the UN Secretariat, Noora will assist with the planning of the UN strategic vision for the rule of law, organize the UN Unified Rule of Law Training Curriculum, and assist with the preparation of Secretary-General’s reports to the General Assembly and the Security Council on the rule of law, as well as the preparation of speeches and talking points.
Noora would like to thank her colleagues and students at UCLan Cyprus for the past academic year, and is saddened to leave such a professional and friendly work environment behind, while being excited of the challenges ahead at the UN.
