Living on the Edge: Coastal Tourism and Sustainable Consumption
An international symposium, free to attend, being held on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th June 2013 to celebrate World Environment Day
The Greek Cypriot Pyla Mukhtar Mr Simos Mitides and the Turkish Cypriot Pyla Mukhtar Mr Nejdet Enver will address the symposium. The Rector of UCLan Cyprus, Dr Lee Chatfield, will elaborate on “Education, Tourism and the Community Partnership in Pyla, Cyprus”.
• Do you work in tourism, regeneration or environmental management?
• Are you interested in enhancing the coast and natural environment?
• Are you involved in coastal or environmental activities or research?
• Do you want to help influence sustainable coastal and tourism management?
Then you might be interested in attending a symposium organised by UCLan and the Samuel Lindow Foundation in collaboration with The Tourism Society and the North West (of England) Coastal Forum. The symposium will be held at UCLan’s Westlakes campus in West Cumbria, with a parallel event being held at UCLan’s Cyprus campus at Pyla, Larnaka. Attendees will be able to listen to the presentations being given in the UK, and participate in the discussions, in the award-winning (for its technology) auditorium of UCLan Cyprus. The symposium will bring together an international audience of tourism professionals and policy makers and will offer the opportunity to attendees of diverse backgrounds to network and exchange opinions on common interests.
Alternatively, if you are not able to attend on either day, you can watch the presentations interactively online at www.thesamuellindowfoundation.com
Please see attached schedule for more details and directions to the UCLan Cyprus campus.
For better organisation of the event, we would appreciate it if you could register your interest to attend via telephone (+357 24812121) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
