A unique opportunity to see our dynamic Sun up close and personal

Professor Robert Walsh took us on a journey throught the stars and brought the sun to us. Using the latest images and movies, Professor Walsh tracked the flow of energy from the nuclear reactions at the heart of the star right down to our planet. Along the way he analysed the Sun’s magnetic personality, surf along shock waves in the solar wind and run for cover from solar storms as we tried to predict the effect of space weather upon Earth.
