Με τη συμβολή του Πανεπιστημίου UCLan Cyprus ο 5ος Παγκύπριος Διαγωνισμός Κυβερνοασφάλειας

Ο Κυπριακός Σύνδεσμος Πληροφορικής (Cyprus Computer Society – CCS) και η Ομάδα Κυβερνοασφάλειας CyberMouflons προκηρύσσουν τον 5ο Παγκύπριο Διαγωνισμό Κυβερνοασφάλειας (Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge – CCSC) που θα διεξαχθεί διαδικτυακά από τις 30 Απριλίου μέχρι τις 15 Μαΐου 2022.

Ο διαγωνισμός CCSC έχει στόχο τη συγκρότηση της Εθνικής Ομάδας που θα εκπροσωπήσει την Κύπρο στον αντίστοιχο Πανευρωπαϊκό Διαγωνισμό Κυβερνοασφάλειας (European Cyber Security Challenge – ECSC) και απευθύνεται σε άτομα ηλικίας 14-25 χρονών. Συγκεκριμένα, αναζητούνται νέες και νέοι (με έτη γέννησης 1997-2008 συμπεριλαμβανομένων) μαθητές και μαθήτριες μέσης εκπαίδευσης, φοιτητές και φοιτήτριες, επαγγελματίες και ερευνητές στον τομέα της κυβερνοασφάλειας και hackers. Σημειώνεται ότι στο διαγωνισμό ενθαρρύνονται να λάβουν μέρος αρχάρια και ή αυτοδίδακτα άτομα καθώς θα υπάρχουν και εισαγωγικές ασκήσεις για άτομα χωρίς εμπειρία που επιθυμούν να δοκιμάσουν τις γνώσεις και δεξιότητες τους σε διαγωνισμό τύπου Capture the Flag.

Οι διακριθέντες στον CCSC, μετά από κατάλληλη σχετική εκπαίδευση και προετοιμασία, θα εκπροσωπήσουν την Κύπρο στον Πανευρωπαϊκό Διαγωνισμό ECSC ο οποίος θα διεξαχθεί 13-16 Σεπτεμβρίου 2022 στην Αυστρία.

Την Κυπριακή ομάδα κυβερνοασφάλειας προετοιμάζουν μέντορες-εθελοντές από την κοινότητα CyberMouflons που μεταξύ άλλων αναλαμβάνουν αφιλοκερδώς τη θεματοθέτηση του διαγωνισμού, την επιλογή των υποψηφίων και εκπαίδευση των νικητών.

Στους χορηγούς του διαγωνισμού συγκαταλέγεται για ακόμη μια χρονιά το Πανεπιστήμιο UCLan Cyprus και το μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα MSc Cybersecurity.

Η διοργάνωση CCSC22 τελεί υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Άμυνας, του Υπουργείο Παιδείας, Πολιτισμού, Αθλητισμού και Νεολαίας, του Επιτρόπου Επικοινωνιών μέσω της Αρχής Ψηφιακής Ασφάλειας και της Αστυνομίας Κύπρου.

Στα άτομα που θα λάβουν τις πρώτες θέσεις στη διοργάνωση θα δοθεί πρόσβαση σε πλατφόρμες εκπαίδευσης των οργανισμών Offensive Security, SCP Academy και Try Hack Me καθώς και τεχνολογικός εξοπλισμός από την εταιρεία Robo.com.cy. UCLan Cyprus amongst the sponsors of the 5th Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge

 The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) and the CyberMouflons Cybersecurity Team announce the 5th Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge (CCSC) to be held online from 30 April to 15 May 2022.

The CCSC aims to form the National Team that will represent Cyprus in the respective European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC). The national competition is open to all ages but only those betwwen the ages of 14-25 years old are eligible to be part of the national team. In particular, young people (with birth years 1997-2008 inclusive) from secondary school students, students, cybersecurity professionals and researchers and hackers.  It is noted that beginners and or self-taught people are encouraged to take part in the competition as there will also be introductory exercises for people without experience who wish to test their knowledge and skills in a CTF (Capture the Flag) competition.

The top players of the CCSC, will receive training and will be prepared through the year in order to represent Cyprus in the European Competition ECSC which will take place on 13-16 September 2022 in Austria.

The Cyprus cybersecurity team is prepared by mentors-volunteers from the CyberMouflons community who, among other things are coordinating the challenges, the selection of candidates and the training of the top players.

CCSC22 is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Commissioner for Communications through the Digital Security Authority and the Cyprus Police.

For one more year, UCLan Cyprus will be amongst the Sponsors of the Cybersecurity Challenge, showcasing its successful MSc Cybersecurity programme.

Those who will receive the first places in the event will be given access to training platforms of Offensive Security, SCP Academy and Try Hack Me as well as technological equipment from the company Robo.com.cy.
