We are proud to announce that on 11^th February 2025 the University signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, with the aim to strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of research, education and scientific excellence, so as to enhance Cyprus’ role as a regional centre of reference in these significant areas.

The MoU is based on a scientific cooperation in fields of common interests between the two institutions. These being research, culture, knowledge exchange and public engagement via the co-organisation of joint scientific, artistic and educational events and activities, the mutual/joint participation in funded research projects, the provision of expertise and conduct of studies, cooperation on issues related to scientific and artistic fields served by the members of the Academy and any other issues as agreed between the two institutions.

During the signing ceremony at the premises of UCLan Cyprus, the President of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Professor Achilles Emilianides stated: “We welcome the conclusion of the MoU with UCLan Cyprus. One of the main strategic goals of the Academy is to collaborate with all leading Cypriot academic institutions, in order to implement joint initiatives so as to promote excellence and the international standing of Cypriot researchers.”

Signing on behalf of the UCLan Cyprus Rector, the Head of the School of Law Professor Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou, emphasised the importance of this collaboration by stating “UCLan Cyprus welcomes this initiative, as the Memorandum of Understanding with the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts contributes to the nurturing and deepening of excellence in research, culture and knowledge exchange in Cyprus to the wider benefit of society”.
