Students’ learning will be largely self-directed. Tutors will provide tutorials, seminars, and workshop guidance, reviews and group critiques. Peer learning through participation in group discussions, especially in the early diagnostic stage of the module will help clarify common issues and difficulties.
Fieldtrips and visits to Cultural Heritage Museums and Exhibitions, Traditional Lace-Making Museums, Folklore Museums, Artisan Workshops and Demonstrations, Heritage Organizations, Cultural Events and Traditional Textile Workshops will also be part of the teaching methodology. Such exposure and observational learning methods will broaden their perspectives and help them understand the historical, social, and cultural contexts of their field of study.
Students receive Formative Feedback part way through their studies, which they have the opportunity to respond to before the summative assessment at the end of the module. Feedback is verbal (through tutorials, reviews, and critique) and written.
