Aim 1


This module aims to develop students’ knowledge of Cyberpsychology, enabling students to understand, discuss and critically evaluate the research, both within the wider framework of psychological theory and in terms of the practical implications for online behaviour and cyberpsychology.

Module Content

The module will develop students’ understanding of the theoretical basis for cyberpsychology, and application across different applied domains. The module content addresses major themes in Cyberpsychology, for example Internet Research Methods & Ethics Anonymity & its effect on online behaviour¸ Psychology of Virtual Worlds, Applied Cyberpsychology, Cybercrime & Cyberbullying, Online deception, Prevention & Protection of Children on the Internet, Psychological Aspects of Promoting Safety Online.
