Sixty years of State Relations – An online symposium to mark the passage of 60 years since the Republic of Cyprus established State Relations with Russia

The online Symposium is co-organised by the School of Law of the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) and MGIMO University.
Supported of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus.

This Online Symposium marks the passage of 60 years since the Republic of Cyprus established diplomatic relations with the then Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) on 18 August 1960, i.e. two days after the establishment of the Republic of Cyprus as an independent sovereign state, followed by diplomatic and trade relations with the Russian Federation in the wider geopolitical region.

This Online Symposium also marks the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) and MGIMO University in Moscow, the capital city of Russia.
