School visit from the Pancyprian Lyceum of Larnaka

On the 9th of April, UCLan Cyprus welcomed around 100 female final year students from the Pancyprian Lyceum of Larnaka and their teachers for a live streaming lecture with UCLan Preston.

The state of the art amphitheatre at UCLan Cyprus hosted a very fascinating lecture about Forensic Science. Using the latest technology, live streaming was established with UCLan Preston (UK) which allowed for the screen to be divided in four; showing the lecturer, slides from a presentation, detailed images of short demonstrations and the students in the Cyprus Campus amphitheatre.

The students enjoyed a unique experience which allowed them to gain some insight into what Forensic Science is and the wide range and ways in which it can become a profession. Enthusiasm filled the amphitheatre as students interacted live in the lecture.

This is a great achievement as it demonstrates that this technology can be used effectively for lectures and enhance the learning experience. For UCLan Cyprus this means that Cyprus students are at no disadvantage to their fellow students in the UK as lectures from important lecturers/presenters can be live streamed to Cyprus. The opposite is also true; the excellent academic staff of UCLan Cyprus can also live stream their presentation/lectures to the UK thus building a strong and mutually beneficial relationship between the two campuses.
