The BA (Hons) English Language & Literature Creative Writing Competition

The School of Business and Management BA English Language and Literature Programme and the British Council in efforts to encourage Lyceum students to engage with Creative Writing in English, announce a Creative Writing competition.

The participants are invited to write a vignette, a short descriptive piece of writing exploring
a single, transformative moment in time.

Final drafts must be submitted via email to [email protected] by Sunday, the 30th of April 2023, 23:59.

Participants should be on the final year of their Lyceum studies.

Word limit: up to 800 words.
BA (Hons) English Language & Literature in collaboration with Chez-νού literary society will offer 2 Creative Writing workshops free of charge, which the participants are encouraged to attend as a chance to learn more about the vignette: the literature genre on which they will compete.

Christina Metaxa, an award-winning writer, creative writing instructor and the founder of Chez-νού, will deliver the workshops. Participants must register their participation via the links below:

1 The Academic Merit Scholarships are calculated on the original fees of the program, that is on €9,950/year, and they apply for all years of study given the student maintains a 70% average grade per year with not less than 60% in each module. For example, the 50% scholarship reduces the annual tuition fees to €4,975 per year. The candidates, besides earning the top 2 positions on the above competition must also meet at least the minimum entry requirement of the programme.
