Konstantinos Vrachimis 10:00-10:45

Title of presentation: “Cyprus Economy: A concise review, the recent crisis and future prospects”

Short Bio: Kostantinos Vrachimis, PhD is currently Head, Product Development and European Union Affairs at Cooperative Central Bank Cyprus. His primary duties include the development new retail banking products, managing the relationship with the European Investment Bank and securing funding through the European
Investment Bank for SMEs. While holding a full time position at the Bank, Kostantinos is an Assistant Professor (pro-rata) of Managerial Economics at UCLan Cyprus. Previously, he worked as a Research Officer at the
Economics Research Center of the University of Cyprus
and as a part time lecturer of economics, and statistics
at the University of Cyprus.

 

Panayiotis Andreou 11:00-11:45

Title of presentation: “Cooperative Banks and Financial Stability”

Short bio: Panayiotis C. Andreou is currently an Assistant Professor in Finance at the Department of Commerce, Finance and Shipping at the Cyprus University of Technology. Prior to this, he was Lecturer in Finance at Durham University Business School. His research has been published in the Journal of Banking and Finance, European Financial Management, Journal of Business Research and European Journal of Operational Research, among others. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief (Pro-Tem) of the Multinational Finance Journal and acts as the Chairman of the Board at the Ammochostou – Larnacas Credit
Cooperative Bank.

Panayiotis Chrysostomou 14:00-14:45

Title of Presentation: “The Cyprus Banking and Financial Services industry in the post-memorandum era”

Short bio: Panayiotis Chrysostomou, CFA is currently Head, Institutional Clients at Eurobank Cyprus Ltd, where his primary duties include servicing the Banks’s institutional clients for their investment and banking needs. Prior to that, he was Director at Symmetria F.S. Ltd, an independent financial advisory firm. From 2007 until 2013, he held the position of Fund Manager at CISCO Ltd, Bank of Cyprus Group, providing asset management services to local and international institutional clients. Previously, he worked as an Investment Officer at Universal Life Insurance Public Co. Ltd and before that he worked as a Senior Analyst at the Investments Department of the MacArthur Foundation in Chicago. He has been a CFA charterholder since 2003
and he is currently the Vice President of the CFA Society
of Cyprus.
