For the seventh consecutive time, IMH, the leading organization for corporate events and media, is organizing the Advertisement, Marketing & Communication Conference and the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) supports the organization as an academic partner. One of the university’s key objectives is to facilitate the continued education and academic training of marketing, advertising and communication practitioners.
Dr Olga Kvasova, Assistant Professor of Marketing at the School of Business and Management of the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) and Course Leader of the BA (Hons) Advertising & Marketing Communications will participate in the conference as a speaker and will discuss about “Code-Switching in Advertising to Ethnic Bilingual Minorities: The Case of Cypriot Health Care Sector”.
The efforts of advertisers to attract bilingual ethnic minorities all over the world have recently become intense, and one creative marketing strategy to influence this market segment is the use of code-switched advertisements. Code-switching refers to the insertion of a foreign word into an advertisement, resulting in a mixed-language message. This presentation discusses two theoretical propositions regarding the applicability of code-switched marketing messages in the health care sector in Cyprus.
The conference will be held at 08:30 on Wednesday 18 November 2020. Because of the restrictions caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be digital.
