UCLan Cyprus graduation ceremony of 2015

The 3rd graduation ceremony of UCLan Cyprus for its 2015 graduates was held on Tuesday 15th December at the state of the art campus of the University in Larnaka.

The extremely impressive and high level academic ceremony was held under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture Prof Costas Kadis. The British High Commissioner, Parliamentary Members and well-known local business men and professionals also honoured the graduation ceremony with their presence.

A total of 30 undergraduate and postgraduate students graduated and an additional 13 students were honoured for their high academic achievements.

In her greeting the Rector, Prof Melinda Tan emphasized that “At UCLan Cyprus, we have an agenda which is ambitious, innovative, bold and challenging. It is an agenda that is essential if our University is to continue to thrive and be even more successful. It is an agenda for a world-class modern university”. Prof Melinda Tan also emphasized the exceptionally high academic status of all lecturers and referred extensively to the University’s new research centres.

The Minister of Education and Culture Prof Costas Kadis congratulated all the graduates and UCLan Cyprus for its level of excellence and great progress it has continuously shown, and stressed that every graduation constitutes an achievement as it is the result of great effort and commitment.

During the ceremony Dr Erato Kozakou-Markoullis was honoured and appointed “Honorary Fellow” in the Law School of UCLan Cyprus while Dr Yiannis Laouris was honoured and appointed “Honorary Fellow” in the School of Sciences.

UCLan Cyprus operates three Schools: The School of Business and Management, the Law School and the School of Sciences, under which a large variety of programmes are offered.

The University has now been awarded its full operating licence and all programmes of study are evaluated and recognised by the Ministry of Education & Culture in Cyprus through the Agency for Quality Assurance & Accreditation for Higher Education. In addition they meet the high quality standards required by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). Many of our courses are accredited by professional and statutory bodies, ensuring students meet the standards expected of today’s businesses.
