On Thursday 23rd of April, UCLan Cyprus welcomed representatives from Citizens in Power for an engaging and insightful presentation of the SMILE Project, delivered to Psychology students.

The session focused on innovative digital approaches to supporting youth mental health, highlighting how technology can be used to enhance emotional wellbeing and provide accessible support for young people across diverse contexts.

Students had the opportunity to:

  • Engage directly with the project team
  • Explore real-world applications of psychological research
  • Ask questions and discuss future developments in digital mental health
  • Learn about potential opportunities for participation and internships

The event generated strong interest and active participation, reflecting students’ growing engagement with contemporary mental health challenges and solutions.

This initiative reinforces UCLan Cyprus’ commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world impact, offering students valuable exposure to international projects and emerging practices in psychology and mental health.

We would like to thank Citizens in Power for their contribution and look forward to future collaborations that empower and support the next generation.

The session was organised and facilitated by Dr Lilia Psalta, Assistant Professor in Psychology at UCLan Cyprus.
