5th Law Fair, ‘Become a Lawyer for a Day’

On 12th December 2020, the School of Law of UCLan Cyprus held its fifth Law Fair entitled ‘Become a Lawyer for a Day’. This was organised by academics of the School for the benefit of school pupils who were invited to participate online via MS Teams in several pre-determined activities, tailor-made for youngsters between 16 to 18 years old. These included a session on Criminal Law entitled ‘How to get away with murder’, a session on ‘What does the Covid pandemic have to do with law?’ as well as a session on ‘Disobedience to Law: Is it ever OK to break the law?’. The full programme of the day can be downloaded here.

The aim of all three activities was to allow participants to work, in a creative way, on understanding the meaning of some of the basic skills and subject areas in the field of law. All activities had an open question-and-answer session with members of the School. Certificates of participation were delivered to the participants. The full video of the Law Fair can be found here.

The School of Law would like to thank its academics, student volunteers as well as the many participants to the various activities who attended from all over Cyprus and abroad to enjoy the day with us and share their enthusiasm for law studies. The School wishes them all the best of luck in their future careers and hopes to see them again in future Law Fair events.
