International field trip for UCLan Cyprus’ Undergraduate students

An international field trip was completed by undergraduate students of UCLan Cyprus in June 2022 to Valladolid, Spain.

Five students of the BA (Hons) Hospitality and Tourism Management course, along with two students of the BSc (Hons) Psychology course visited Valladolid, and completed a five-day training on the topics of learning competences, societal expressions, and cultural diversity.

The students were accompanied by two UCLan Cyprus academics (Dr Josephina Antoniou and Dr Nearchos Paspallis, Computing, School of Sciences) who were also part of the training delivery team. The training was delivered under the auspices of the Erasmus project “mentorME”.

Hospitality and Tourism Management student, Stefani Michael, mentions about the field trip experience: “Our experience in Spain was amazing. I’m glad we had this opportunity. We had the chance to meet new people with different cultures and backgrounds. This opportunity made me realise how different cultures can be with our own. Valladolid was an amazing city and had very kind people. It offered a lot of cultural sightseeing such as museums and old buildings, and has a lot of history behind every thing”.
