UCLan Cyprus, Pyla Campus

John N. Faraclas

Abstract:
The real Wealth of Nations rests with Shipping in its entirety. Life comes from the Sea, conversely Shipping has the potential to offer a sustainable future to everybody, to all nations, no matter the problems. Just imagine the world without the Sea-factor. Given the above, all current Cyprus’ issues, if appropriately tackled via Shipping, can make the difference from the current situation.

Biography:
John N. Faraclas comes from Chios’ traditional shipping and seafaring families involved in the shipping adventure for almost 700
years, in Russia, Greece, the United Kingdom, Bermuda and the USA. Graduated from Anargyrios and Corgialenios College of Spetsae; sailed around the seven seas on ocean going ships; studied Shipping in Greece and the UK and got involved with all aspects of Shipping including academia. Nowadays he runs www.allaboutshipping.co.uk where he is also a co-founder.
