Librarian

As part of the expansion of our University’s successful activities, we are seeking to appoint a Librarian.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support daily circulation operations, including loans, returns, and user accounts.
- Produce student ID cards and assist with user account setup.
- Assist users with access to library resources and services.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of circulation policies.
- Provide frontline support at service desks (physical and/or online).
- Assist users with printing, scanning and photocopying.
- Provide subject-specific support to academic staff and students.
- Deliver information literacy training sessions and library inductions.
- Support research activities, including literature searching and reference management.
- Liaise with academic departments to identify resource needs.
- Contribute to the development and management of print and electronic collections.
Qualifications
- Degree in Library and Information Science (or equivalent).
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, academic staff, and colleagues.
- Good digital literacy and familiarity with library systems, including Ex Libris ALMA.
- Knowledge of Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) for organising collections.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working in an academic or research library.
- Experience with information literacy teaching or training.
- Familiarity with electronic resources and databases.
Gross annual salary: €17,000
