Cyber Awareness Day 2023 at UCLan Cyprus

The weakest link in cyber security is unquestionably human vulnerability. Given the prevalence of remote work, it’s critical to understand how cyberattacks operate.

The MSc Cybersecurity course team at UCLan Cyprus, in collaboration with the International CyberSecurity Institute, will be offering a free and practical Cybersecurity Awareness training program. This training is open to the public, with a particular focus on professionals from any field who need to work with technology, such as remote working or connecting to virtual workspaces.

By joining the training, participants will be able to learn more about how to how to apply cybersecurity in everyday business activities, and to understand how they can motivate and empower themselves and their colleagues to defend their business from the rising threat of cybercrime and how to comply with legal obligations. To achieve that, participants will get to see for themselves how social engineering attacks are used by hackers to obtain company and personal data.

When: 22nd of September 2023 from 9.30am to 12.00pm

Speakers: George Thrasyvoulou (Managing Director ICSI, UK) and Costas Senekkis (Technical Lead, ICSI, UK)

Τhe day will include sessions exploring why Cybersecurity Awareness is crucial in any business. George Thrasyvoulou (Managing Director ICSI, UK) and Costas Senekkis (Costas Senekkis, Technical Lead, ICSI, UK) will be joining the event as guest speakers to talk about such cybersecurity awareness issues. The course leader of MSc Cybersecurity at UCLan Cyprus, Dr Josephina Antoniou will welcome participants on the day. All participants will receive certificates of attendance.
