BCS Accreditation
Accreditation by British Computing Society
The BCS accreditation is a mark of assurance that the BSc Computing Undergraduate degree of UCLan Cyprus meets the standards set by the BCS and sets UCLan Cyprus graduates as highly skilled IT professionals.
With effect from the academic year 2018-2019, graduates who will be receiving a BSc Computing degree, from the British University of Cyprus, will automatically gain accreditation as Chartered Information Technology Professionals (CITPs).
As several employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees, the CITP makes UCLan Cyprus graduates more competitive in the local and international job markets. Holders of the BSc Computing degree offered at UCLan Cyprus will be able to use the letters CITP after their name for greater recognition in the technology industry and beyond. As chartered members, UCLan Cyprus graduates will also be featured in the BCS Register of Chartered Members and Fellows.
Further to the above, the BCS provides UCLan Cyprus graduates with additional benefits which can help them progress their careers, such as continuing professional development, mentoring, discounted training opportunities, and assistance in job-seeking via the Institute’s Job Board and Career Centre.
