Professor Polycarpou, in her statement, highlighted the importance of the collaboration by stating: “UCLan Cyprus welcomes this initiative, as today’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with IPSEPA will offer new opportunities for both organisations and will strengthen the cooperation between UCLan Cyprus and IPSEPA in the fields of education, training and research, especially within the area of mental health, which is of utmost importance to both organisations as well as the broader society.”

Dr. Christodoulou noted a shared interest across the two organisations in the application of cognitive-behavioural therapy and its potential role in students’ practical experience. She suggested possible collaborations on this dimension, emphasizing the practical implications of the partnership in enhancing the educational experience for students in the field of forensic psychology.

The agreement between UCLan Cyprus and IPSEPA is poised to deliver new avenues for innovation, research, and knowledge transfer on the topic of mental health education, prevention, and treatment. The collaborative efforts will be beneficial to the students of both institutions but will also support the broader societal well-being by addressing critical mental health challenges through innovative approaches.
