EU-POP Conference -EU Governance in Populist Times

The School of Law of UCLan Cyprus is pleased to announce the final EU-POP Conference that will take place on the 12th and 13th of May 2022, within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module ‘European Union Law and Governance in Populist Times’.

Subject to COVID-19 related measures in force at the time, the Summer School will take place simultaneously on-site at the UCLan Cyprus campus and online via Microsoft Teams.

The Conference

The EU-POP conference is the culmination of the EU-POP project that has been running at our University since 2019. For more information about the project and its various outputs, visit our website at https://eupopulism.eu/

We are happy to announce that the Conference’s keynote lecture will be delivered by Professor Dimitry Kochenov of the Central European University, who leads the Rule of Law Workgroup at CEU Democracy Institute. The lecture is entitled ‘The Many Faces of the Fight for the Rule of Law’.

In addition to Prof Kochenov’s address, the conference will host various panels and workshops, with experts presenting their work on various topics within populist studies. A roundtable discussion will conclude the conference, aiming to showcase the findings of the Jean Monnet Module EU-POP, while also launching the newly established Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence CRoLEV (Centre for the Rule of Law and European Values) at UCLan Cyprus. You may find more information for CRoLEV here.
