Shared Summer Internship programme for 3 BSc (Hons) Computing students co-mentored by experts at UCLan Cyprus and Wargaming

As part of the collaboration framework between UCLan Cyprus and Wargaming, a unique collaborative summer internship activity is currently underway. Our game development students George Antoniou, Andreas Parperis and Anna Anikina, are participating in a shared internship programme supported by academics at UCLan Cyprus and professional game developers at Wargaming.

This innovative shared summer internship brings together our students with the academic experts from our Rays and Vectors student-led game studio at UCLan Cyprus, and with professional game developers from the Creative Research Team at Wargaming.

As part of this initiative, our student interns have the opportunity to work directly with experts in the forefront of research and the gaming industry, be exposed to best practices and to the latest techniques and technologies used in game development. This will enable our students to directly apply what they learn in their course modules in practice.

Such collaborations benefit both organizations from the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas brought by students, fostering a dynamic environment of continuous learning and growth, encouraging knowledge sharing and promoting a culture of learning and development.

This partnership and such initiatives demonstrate our commitment at UCLan Cyprus to nurturing talent and preparing the next generation of game developers for a successful career in the industry.

Our BSc (Hons) Computing students learn how to stay up to date with the latest tools and techniques and practice their application to real-world problems. The programme offers optional modules that focus on the specialised areas of Software Engineering, Computer Games Development, Computer Networks and Security while Course Graduates are eligible to register to the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK).
